"Your selling ice cream right?" he asked looking down at him.
"Yes, I sell ice cream for a living sir. I need this so I could go to school," his reply to him.
"You're a very hardworking young boy," he just said.
"I have to," Lawrence just said.
The man eyed him for a moment and spoke. "By the way I'm Eric," he told Lawrence. And Lawrence told him his name. "We don't normally allow vendors in our subdivision but since you have proven me your honesty, I'll let you go inside our subdivision and sell ice cream, there are many young children there who would want to buy from you."
"Really, sir...  thanks," gratefully Lawrence uttered. "I've wanted to go to that subdivision but the guard refused entry to me."
