Lawrence was selling ice cream on his ice cream cart. He hurried and pedaled going to the road. Moments later he was already at the highway. He pedaled and pedaled until he reached the road leading to several subdivisions. Suddenly, he saw a man dropped his Seiko wallet from his pants on the sidewalk. He pedaled faster and called out aloud. "Hey mister you dropped your wallet!" The man turned his back towards him from the sidewalk he was walking. Lawrence parked his cart on the side of the clay tiled sidewalk. He jumped off of his cart and hurriedly walked to pick the fallen wallet on the ground. When he got it, he hurried to the man who owned it and handed it to him.
"Thank you young boy," the man thanked Lawrence.
"You’re welcome sir," he answered scratching his head slightly.

"Your selling ice cream right?" he asked looking down at him.
"Yes, I sell ice cream for a living sir. I need this so I could go to school," his reply to him.
"You're a very hardworking young boy," he just said.
"I have to," Lawrence just said.
The man eyed him for a moment and spoke. "By the way I'm Eric," he told Lawrence. And Lawrence told him his name. "We don't normally allow vendors in our subdivision but since you have proven me your honesty, I'll let you go inside our subdivision and sell ice cream, there are many young children there who would want to buy from you."
"Really, sir...  thanks," gratefully Lawrence uttered. "I've wanted to go to that subdivision but the guard refused entry to me."

"Really, he's just doing his job, I think," he told Lawrence. "This is my calling card take this. Wait I'll just sign and write an instruction to our guard so he would let you in. I'm the subdivision by
the way."

"Thank you so much," Lawrence replied looking up to him after he took his calling card.
"Thank you once again for your honesty young boy," the man told Lawrence and headed back to where he was going.
After the man had left, happily Lawrence boarded his mobile ice cream cart and pedaled. He headed straight to the subdivision he had wanted to sell ice cream. And when he got to the guard house he immediately showed the guard the calling card with instruction to him. The guard took it from him and read. After reading he smiled at him.
"Oh, so you know our subdivision president then," he just

said looking at him.
"Not really, I just returned him the wallet that he had dropped on the road," his answer to the guard.
He smiled at him. "You're a very honest young boy,
so that's why he trusted you inside our subdivision," he said and opened the big gate for Lawrence.

"Thank you so much," excitedly Lawrence told him and started pedaling going inside the subdivision. And not long, rich young children started calling him to the side of their gates and bought ice creams from him. He's branded ice creams in cups and cones sold fast. Lawrence was so happy, he didn't remember selling that much in such a short time. He was about to leave the subdivision when suddenly someone went out of a big gate and called out for him.
"Ice cream!" the young girl called out aloud.

Lawrence turned his head back as he was pedaling going to the subdivision gate. He saw the young girl standing and looking at him. He turned his car around and pedaled towards her. When he reached her
she immediately spoke.

"I want to buy an ice cream," the beautiful young girl told him.
Lawrence smiled at her and pulled up the cart's cover. After the girl told him what kind of ice cream she wanted, Lawrence bended from where he was sitting to get one. "Here," he said giving her the ice cream.
The girl then took it from him and ripped the top cover of the ice cream in cone. She immediately tasted it and seemed to like it. "This Selecta Ice Cream is really delicious," she just said.
"Yeah it is," Lawrence replied looking at her from where he was sitting.
"Hey how did you get in here, they don't normally allow vendors in our subdivision?" she asked him.

Lawrence explained and the girl smiled at him. Her smile is really pretty, Lawrence thought. He smiled back at her. And her smile widened a little.
      "You’re an honest young boy,"
she just said looking up at him, "and very hardworking."

"I have to, my father have been sick for a long time now. So I have to work for the two of us for food and for school," he told her.
"That's good to know," she uttered looking at his face. "You're cute," she told him.
"Thanks," he replied. "You're pretty and cute yourself," he said smiling back at her.
The two continued chatting while the beautiful young girl was slowly eating her cream. Lawrence introduced himself to him and Christine introduced herself to him. In just a short time of conversation, the two became friends. She asked him to go back to their subdivision so she could buy once again.

He immediately agreed smiling her. After the beautiful young girl had gone back inside their house, Lawrence pedaled once again and left the subdivision.
And everyday Lawrence would go to the subdivision to sell ice cream and every time Christine would buy from him. And they became closer and closer, everyday wanting to see each other. One day Lawrence went back to sell ice cream on their subdivision, many children bought from Lawrence once again. Christine did not come out even if he had already ringed his bell several times. He waited some more but still she did not come out. He went back the following day to sell and see her but once again he did not see her. He went back to the subdivision almost every day for a week to sell but still he did not see her. He asked the maid who he saw throwing trash outside their gate but she just looked at him for a moment and went back inside Christine's house. Sadly, Lawrence went home.

Lawrence once again left his home to sell ice cream on the road. He pedaled and pedaled for some time and saw a big house. It was the only house on that road. He approached its gate and rang his bell to call the attention of the people inside. Shortly, a man went out and immediately told him that he didn't want to buy ice cream and told him to leave immediately. The man then hurriedly closed the gate and left him. So Lawrence had no choice but to leave the place. He turned his ice cream cart and started pedaling away from the house. He bent his head to see what time it was from his wristwatch. But as he bent his head he saw something on the ground, something he thought he had already seen. It was a wallet. Hurriedly, he got off his cart and approached to pick it up. And just like what he thought it was Christine's wallet. He saw her picture on it after her opened it. Wondering a little how it landed there, he looked back at the house. He stared at it for a moment and decided to head to the
subdivision and returned the wallet to Christine hoping that he would found her that day.
When he got inside the subdivision he immediately hurried to Christine's house. He rang the door bell and a tall handsome elderly man opened and looked at Lawrence.
"What is it?" he asked Lawrence.
"I found Christine's wallet," he said extending his hand holding the wallet to him.
The man immediately took the wallet from him and looked inside it. "Where did you find this?" he asked suddenly.
And Lawrence told him where he found it. After the man thanked him he hurriedly went back inside their house. Lawrence waited a little still hoping to see Christine. But once again she did not come out of their gate.
Lawrence then left the subdivision and went home.

                                                     Chapter 2

A week later Lawrence was called to the principal's office. He went and after she made him sat in front of him, she told her that someone had given him a full scholarship. He could finish high school and college on any course of his choosing at the same university all for free. Lawrence didn't know what to say to the principal, he was so happy and almost in tears. And he just heard himself saying thank you to her.
But the principal told him that he shouldn't thank her. He should thank his rich and kind sponsor instead. She asked him to go with her to the house of his scholarship sponsor. Grateful, Lawrence agreed. She boarded him on his car, drove and left the university.
Suddenly, Lawrence realized they were heading to Christine's subdivision. He glanced at the principal besides her wondering. The guard immediately opened the gate for them. The white Ford Car went through and continued moving inside the subdivision. The car stopped right in front of Christine's

house. Lawrence glanced back at the principal. She just smiled at him noticing him. She then opened the door and went down. Lawrence followed. The maid opened the gate and asked them to follow. She walked the two going to the living room. And to Lawrence surprise, he saw Christine smiling at him. She was standing beside the tall elderly man he talked one day. The elderly man too smiled at Lawrence. Lawrence smiled at Christine and to the elderly man beside him.
"Christine," Lawrence called her name looking at her.
"Lawrence," she just said grinning at him.
The principal then spoke looking at Lawrence by her side. "This is Mr. Donald Harrison, your scholarship sponsor Lawrence."
"He is," Lawrence just said. And then he just heard himself say thank you to him.
"No son, I should thank you instead," he said smiling and

gently patted his shoulder. He then made him and the principal sat with them on the sofa. After all of them were seated, the elderly man continued speaking.
"Thank you so much Lawrence, because of you I got my daughter back."
Surprised, Lawrence glanced at Christine by the man's side. She smiled at him. The man continued. "Because of you, we found the place where Christine's kidnappers were keeping her. We really lost hope, but then you came and returned her wallet and told me where you found it. I called the police and immediately they made their rescue plans. And they were successful; Christine is back with us without having to pay the million of money they were asking for her ransom."
"Thank you Lawrence," Christine finally said to Lawrence smiling at him.
Lawrence didn't know what to say but just heard him saying you’re welcome to her. Mr. Harrison and the principal smiled at the two children smiling and looking at each other.
Two years later, Lawrence finished high school and after five years he finished Business Management Course at the university. And when he thought he was ready, he proposed to Christine, his college girlfriend. She immediately accepted. And after two years, Lawrence rushed to the hospital to see Christine and their first born child.
"It's a boy,” Christine told him looking at him.
"Yeah it is," Lawrence said and immediately hugged his son kissing him gently on the cheeks. He then sat beside Christine on the bed she was laying. "Thank you Christine..." he said softly looking at her.
"No, thank you Lawrence," she said and smiled at him.

                                     About Ants and Other Creatures

The ant went home. When he got there he saw a bee blocking his entrance. "Hey bee, what are you doing outside our home? Why are you blocking our door?
The bee stared at the ant. "Oh is this your home?”
"Yes, that’s our home. I’ve got lots of brothers in there,” he answered quickly.
"Really, but look I don’t see any other ants inside or around the place. Aren’t you ants like to fall in line all the time?” he asked.
The ant looked back. He saw no one. He looked to his left, and then to his right and still he saw no one. "What happened to them?” he asked finally.
"Why are you asking me I’m just a bee,” he answered. "Hey how come you can see me? I heard ants can’t see,” he asked and said.
"Yeah, that’s what they say, even human does. But the truth is ants can  see. They just don’t know how we do. But we do see.”
"Really, " the bee just said. Then suddenly the other ants started coming. They fall in line and walked towards the entrance. One by one they got through. The first ant and the bee was left all alone outside once again. They chatted and chatted about so many things about each others races. They became friends. The bee left and the ant went inside and greeted the queen and his brothers.
This story is just about my view about Science. Many people say, plants don’t talk. And other creatures can’t do this or that. Maybe, the truth is we just don’t know how they do it. But  maybe someday we will…

Chapter 1

What am I going to do now. Where am I going? All his neighbors had gone home and he was left all alone at the cemetery. They had just buried his mom. His father passed away a long time ago.
And now he was the only one left in the family. He didn't know any of his relatives. They were just
renting their house. His mother did not pay rent for the last three months. He had nowhere to go. He said his final good bye to his mom in her grave and prayed a little to God. Lord what's going to happen to me. I'm only nine years old, who's going to take good care of me now? Suddenly, it started raining. He looked around and ran towards the large gate of the cemetery. He was a bit soaked when he reached the road outside. A big bus stopped and a woman stepped out. He touched his pocket. This is all I've got, he thought. He ran towards the bus and climbed up, inside he looked around

and found himself a seat near the window. He sat holding his pants pocket. Holding on to his last possession. The bus was full of passengers and he heard from one of them that the bus was going for Manila. He was so tired. He haven't slept since last night. He fall asleep in the bus.
"Hey, wake up little boy!" said the bus conductor. "Do you have a place to go, huh?"
The young boy opened his eyes and looked at the man in front of him. "Where am I, huh?" he asked and rubbed his eyes.
"We're in Manila now, you can't sleep here," he answered and warned the boy. "

"I'm sorry, I was just so tired I fall asleep," he answered and started walking out of the bus. He was walking on the roads of Manila. He saw many tall buildings,
cars, and a lot of people going somewhere. He looked around and inhaled. I have nowhere to go. Maybe I'll just walk around and find any food that my money could afford. He saw a bakeshop selling many kinds of breads. Maybe my money will be enough to buy a cheap bread, he thought. He walked towards the bakeshop and tried to buy something. Luckily, his money was enough to buy one. He sat on a bench to eat the bread that he bought out of his last coins. He looked up first on the tall buildings and tried to open the plastic covering of the cheap and clean bread.
"Help! That boy snatched my school bag!" a girl from far ahead yelled. He saw the thief running towards him. When he got near him, he immediately grabbed the bag away from him. The thief didn't stop and left running away.
"Hey thank you, thank you so much!" the beautiful young girl thanked the boy as he handed her the school bag. "My school project is in there, and if you haven't recovered my bag I wouldn't know what to do. I'm supposed to submit my project today, today is our deadline. Thank you really," she said and looked at the young boy's face and smiled.
"No, that was nothing," he answered and looked away.
"By the way I'm Karina, you, what's your name, huh?" she asked the young boy in front of her.

"Michael, I'm Michael," he answered and looked at the pretty girl's face.
"Hey, I had passed here before, but I haven't really eaten anything from these bakeshop near our school. That looks nice and delicious," she said and looked at the bread Michael was holding.
"If you really want to eat this, I'll give it to you," he said and smiled at her.
"Really, thank you. It's good thing I will be able to eat this kind of bread that I have long been eyeing from our car every time we pass by here going to our school with my parents," she confessed and took the bread from the handsome boy's hand. She immediately ripped off the plastic cover and
